Divine Subversion
Not every fire devours.
Some smolder beneath silence,
refusing to rise in tidy plumes,
answering to no chimney, no sky.
Love,
the kind without ledger or leash,
does not genuflect
before the architecture of enough.
It speaks in tongues
of breath and upheaval,
a syntax ungoverned by symmetry,
a grammar unraveled from law.
It binds to nothing.
It kneels before no altar of worth.
No oath.
No claim.
Only the wild pull
to give without permission,
to walk beside,
without leading, owning, or fixing.
What is agape
if not the undoing
of every threshold that asks
you first become worthy?
A rebellion made of tenderness,
a riot soft enough
to dissolve the scaffolding
of supremacy,
and the dogma that mistakes
usefulness for value.
It razes no kingdoms,
only the blueprints
that mistook control
for connection,
and taught us to earn
what we already are.
This is a lovely description for Agape love. It loves completely whether we are worthy or not. It assumes our worth in the beginning.
